You Don't Have To Sell Any Physical Product – Sell Yourself

A local Cleveland businessman once said to me, “Tom, I don’t sell my products on the internet, why do I need a blog or a website?” I told this gentleman that just because he can’t sell his product online, doesn’t mean that he couldn’t  get people to come into his business. His business or brand could be recognized by using social media. Even if he were to set up a simple myspace page he could target his “friends.” Put your presence out there even if you are a local taven that can’t sell beer online. You’re not selling beer on your Myspace page, YOU ARE SELLING A GOOD TIME.

Let people know that you exist. There were a few clubs in Cleveland that I didn’t even know existed until they requested me as a friend on myspace.  They got my attention because they had some really cool photos of thier place with people dancing and having fun. The crowd looked liked they were friendly. And because you can pick your friends on Myspace according to age, sex, race, smoking, non smoking, kids, no kids, you can basically zero in on your target audience or perfect potential customer.

Myspace has got bad raps over the years, but Myspace does more good than harm.

So I dare you, go and start a Myspace page for your business and show people that you exist.

One more important thing, just don’t build a Myspace page and then never update it. People don’t want to see outdated drink specials or picture of snow on the ground when it’s summer outside. ADD NEW CONTENT AND UPDATE, UPDATE, UPDATE.

Not sure how to set up a compelling Myspace page? I can do it for you. Let’s expand the reach of your brand or business by using social media sites. Go the distance and start a blog too.
